Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

ISBN: 9780439023498
Publisher: Scholastic
Pages: 391

Katniss Everdeen survived The Hunger Games. Now the Capitol wants revenge.

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are still alive. Katniss should be relieved, but now there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol - a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create. As the nation watches Katniss and Peeta, the stakes are higher than ever.
One false move and the consequences will be unimaginable.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Catching Fire! It was full of beautifully written, unexpected twists and turns! I loved reading about Katniss' life after participating in The Hunger Games. Even though she could afford to buy food and support her family on her winnings, she still went hunting and practised the skills her father taught her - never expecting she would need to rely on them for survival again. My favourite character in this book was Katniss. Despite suffering from vivid nightmares about her time in the arena, she still carried on caring for her family and friends, whilst silently resisting and rebelling against her new life as a victor. I really like the cover of Catching Fire. The dramatic, fiery colours within the cover image represent the dark, dangerous mood of this book well, when compared to the previous cover for The Hunger Games and the next book in the trilogy, Mockingjay.
